Jay Shubrook, DO, FAAFP, FACOCP is a Family Physician and Fellowship trained Diabetologist. He is currently a Professor at Touro University California. Dr. Shubrook’s professional work and passion focuses on preparing the primary care workforce to better manage diabetes; And optimizing the prevention and treatment of diabetes. He served as the Director of an integrated comprehensive diabetes care center and also as the Director of Clinical Research at both Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM) and more recently Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine; and is the immediate past Chair of the Primary Care Advisory Board of the American Diabetes Association.
Bankim A. Bhatt, MD is the Department Chief for St. Luke’s Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology as well as the Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at St. Luke’s/Temple University of Medicine. Dr. Bhatt is an adult endocrinologist and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, the American College of Physicians, and a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association where he has presented his research findings. His research has also been published in leading medical journals.

Listen to Dr. Anne Peters, an endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism specialist and Dr. Diana Issacs, an endocrine clinical pharmacy specialist discuss tackling COVID-19 in their practices, including telehealth tips on getting started, treatment plan considerations, and ways to help patients prepare.

Dr. Anne L. Peters is a professor of clinical medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and the Director of the USC Clinical Diabetes Programs. She runs diabetes centers in Beverly Hills and in underserved East Los Angeles. In addition to her clinical work, she has been a PI on multiple grants and has written over 200 articles and 4 books. She has been on multiple guideline writing committees for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Her major interests involve translating research findings, from lifestyle interventions to technology, to people with diabetes throughout the socioeconomic spectrum.
Dr. Diana Isaacs is the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Program Coordinator and Endocrinology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Cleveland Clinic Diabetes Center. Dr. Isaacs holds board certifications in pharmacotherapy, ambulatory care, and advanced diabetes management. She is the 2020 Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) Diabetes Care and Education Specialist of the Year.

Patricia Montesinos, CRNP, CDE is a graduate of the University of Maryland Family Nurse Practitioner Program and Georgetown University School of Nursing Undergraduate Program. She has 8 years of experience in the field of endocrinology and diabetes and currently works at the Medstar Diabetes Institute on the Pathway Program. This program is an innovative technology-enabled program focusing on improving glycemic control and reducing healthcare utilization for high risk adults with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes.
Robert Eckel, MD is a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and currently the Charles A. Boettcher II Endowed Chair in Atherosclerosis, Professor of Medicine with appointments in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, Division of Cardiology, and professor of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Anschutz Medical Campus, and director of the Lipid Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital. He also was a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. In addition, he served as President of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity and then president of the American Heart Association.
