Jennifer B. Green, MD is a professor of medicine and endocrinologist at Duke University and the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). Her research has focused upon strategies to treat diabetes and reduce the risk of cardiovascular, renal and other complications. Her work with the DCRI has included leadership of several international trials designed to determine the cardiovascular effects of glucose-lowering medications (TECOS, EXSCEL, and Harmony Outcomes), and she is now the US coordinating center PI for the EMPA-Kidney trial.  Dr. Green is also a member of the ADA Professional Practice Committee, which publishes the annual Standards of Care in Diabetes.

Neha J. Pagidipati, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and cardiovascular disease prevention specialist.  Since 2011, she has conducted research on cardiometabolic disease prevention, lifestyle modification and weight management.  She is also building the Duke Cardiometabolic Disease Prevention Program, which focuses on behavior change and risk factor management in patients with high risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

Boris Draznin, MD, PhD is the Celeste and Jack Grynberg Professor of Medicine and Director of the Adult Diabetes Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, and the Association of American Physicians. Dr. Draznin has published over 160 scientific articles and has written or edited over 30 books and book chapters.

Kushner, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family medicine doctor at the Kushner Wellness Center in Los Alamitos, California, and a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of California (UC), Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Jennifer Green is a professor of medicine in the division of endocrinology, metabolism, and nutrition at Duke University and a faculty member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Dr. Green’s research has focused primarily upon strategies to treat diabetes mellitus and reduce the risk of cardiovascular and other diabetes-related complications. She is currently a member of the American Diabetes Association’s Professional Practice Committee, which publishes the organization’s annual Standards of Care in Diabetes.

Dr. David Aguilar is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center McGovern Medical School in Houston and in the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Texas School of Public Health. Dr. Aguilar is a member of the American Heart Association/American Diabetes Association’s Know Diabetes by Heart Science Advisory Group. His research interests have predominantly focused on the impact of cardiometabolic disorders (including type 2 diabetes mellitus) on health outcomes. He has been the principal investigator and co-investigator in multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health and has been actively involved in clinical trials testing new treatment strategies in cardiovascular disease. He has also been an associate editor and on the editorial board of several cardiovascular journals.

Ronald Goldberg, MD is a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His research interests are in the prevention and early phases of development of diabetes and its complications with a special focus on the evolution of cardiovascular risk and disease in diabetes and in the metabolism and clinical relevance of HDL. His clinical and teaching interests are in the area of diabetes and lipid disorders.

Robert Eckel, MD is a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and currently the Charles A. Boettcher II Endowed Chair in Atherosclerosis, Professor of Medicine with appointments in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, Division of Cardiology, and professor of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Anschutz Medical Campus, and director of the Lipid Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital. He also was a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. In addition, he served as President of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity and then president of the American Heart Association.
